Competition Teams at Division Street Dance give your dancer more opportunities to perform, and are a more challenging atmosphere to push your dancer to be they best she or he can be. It is also a great chance to be recognized at a higher level for their time and effort and become great role models for other dancers in the studio. We stress a healthy competition attitude. We are not there to win the highest award; we are there to do our personal best and have fun. You are a successful competitor when you walk away with a smile saying I did the best I can do and am proud of my hard work. The dancers are there to support each other and have a wonderful memorable experience.
While competition is not the focus or backbone of our studio, we do recognize the benefits that come from preparing and competing with dance routines. The opportunities to perform, confidence, poise, great friendships, and good sportsmanship are just a few among them all.
There is also always the opportunity for any interested dancer to work on a solo, duet, or trio in a private or semi-private lesson for competition. This opportunity is open to any dancer, ages 7 and up. Please see Emily for more details.
